Welcome

Established in 1896, The Brisbane Golf Club is a premier golfing destination thanks to the vision of our founding members. With great foresight, these pioneers of Australian golf built an exceptional golf course together with traditions and culture that has created the unique combination of challenging golf with unparalleled fellowship among members. 120 years later, we enjoy the benefits of their enthusiasm and energy every day.

Our heritage-listed Clubhouse stands proud and our members, most importantly, adore our 18-hole championship golf course which is ranked in the Top 100 golf courses in Australia according to Golf Australia Magazine and Golf Digest Australia Magazine. The Brisbane Golf Club is also the only golf course in Australia to have Champion greens, a putting surface installed on over 700 golf courses in the United States. Being the home of the Isuzu Queensland Open compliments our list of recent achievements.

The Brisbane Golf Club was well represented at this year's Gary Player Classic held at the Pacific Golf Club this week.

Congratulations to BGC members Louis Dobbelaar for winning the 15 years of age and under Gross Championship. Louis 4 round total of 298 (75-75-72-76) was very solid. He birdied 5 of his last 8 holes to win the event.

In the 18-20 years of age category members Lawry Flynn and Stephen Cox finished T3 on 289. Lawry had his lowest round of the week in the final round a 3 under par 69 which included driving it on the par 4 10th hole at Pacific. Steven Cox best round was his 2nd with a 4 under par 68 but his highlight of the week came in the 3rd round with an albatross 2 on Pacific's Par 5 18th hole.

Great to see other BGC Junior Members Bailey Ittensohn (making the cut), Samual Slater and Matthew Van Eden playing in the event and representing themselves and the club well, Great experience as they move through the ranks.

Former Junior Club Champion Luke Kjedel also played his last Gary Player Classic which has been a great event for his ongoing development.

Well done boys.

Our No 1 Masters Pennant Player Gary Brodie (centre) represented The Brisbane Golf Club at a recent Brisbane District Golf Assoc. (BDGA) match against the Gold Coast District Assoc, held at Oxley Golf Club on Sunday 18 Sept. Gary won his match 6/5 which contributed to the Senior Team winning a 5-0, a feat never before achieved. The other members of the team from left to right were Steve Rowley, Sean Curran, Tim Deakin and Jeff Rood.

The BDGA Juniors and Colt Teams also won their respective matches and the Open Team recorded an all square result. Overall the BDGA team recorded a resounding win. The standard of golf was extremely high and the team members enjoyed the friendly/fierce rivalry between districts.

It's been an outstanding golfing year for Gary, runner up in our Club Championship and a significant contributor in the Club's Pennant results, like a fine wine he just keeps getting better with age!!!
