Lagoon

The second hole is a 358 metre, par 4 around one of the many lakes on the course. Long hitters are tempted to hit over the grove of trees on the corner of the dogleg but anything not on the fairway will make scoring difficult. Three bunkers and one deep grass depression guard the green.

Naming the Hole

Lagoon – Highlighting the large water feature on Moolabin Creek which crosses and flanks the right side of the hole, offering a fine view, and home and host to many birds, turtles and water dragons.

Playing Tip

Play your tee shot to the left side of the fairway to gain the best access for your approach. The green is well guarded by three bunkers and is further than you think.

History

This was first played on Opening Day in 1950. Until 1980, it was a par five with the tee further back than at present and joined with the current 20th tee in an “L” shape.
