History of the Event
Formerly The President’s Cup from 1912 to 1928, both cups were presented by the Hon (later Sir Edward) E.H. Macartney M.L.A. for foursomes match play competition. A resume of Macartney’s involvement with The Brisbane Golf Club is given in Chapter 34 (The Members’ Honour Board Events) of “The Fairways are Mine”.
