Note from the President – Greater Brisbane Lockdown

As many of you are aware, as of 5pm tonight the Greater Brisbane area including Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands and Logan will go into lockdown for three days. This announcement was made by the Premier of Queensland, Annastacia Palaszczuk this morning. Once again this means we will only be permitted to leave home for the four following reasons:

  • To purchase essential foods and medication.
  • To study or go to work if you cannot do so from home.
  • To exercise, but only in your local area.
  • To provide help, support or healthcare to someone.

In line with this advice, The Brisbane Golf Club will temporarily close from 5pm today (Monday, 29 March 2021) until 5pm on Thursday, 1 April 2021. This will include the clubhouse, golf course and practice facilities.

The Premier will review her decision on the evening of Wednesday, 31 March 2021.

We will continue to monitor Queensland Government announcements closely and keep you informed of any updates as they occur via email, the latest news section of our website and our social media. Below is a link to the Queensland Government website that outlines today’s announcements which we expect will be updated on a regular basis.

Kind regards

Mark Deuble, President
